As many of you know, we’ve spent the last year and a half working to expand paid internships across the federal government. We’re proud to announce our hard work has paid off.
The omnibus includes nearly $40 million in funding for paid internships!
Here are our accomplishments:
✔️ $4.5 million in White House funding to pay White House and Executive Office interns
✔️ $8 million in State Department funding!
✔️ And THREE wins in Congressional funding:
➡️ $18.2 million in funding for paid internships in Member and leadership offices in the House, increasing annual funding from $25K to $35K!
➡️ Increased Senate funding from $6 million to $7 million. Each office now has $70k on average!
➡️ $2.3 million in new funding for interns within Committee offices.
We couldn’t have done this without your help and support. You’ve helped us share toolkits, signed onto letters calling for White House interns to be paid, and so much more.
