“After securing my internship with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, I was worried that I would struggle paying rent because the position was unpaid, however, the IOF alleviated that burden after awarding me a scholarship. Now I can focus on solely on my internship and not worry about how I am going to make ends meet.” 

“The Intern Opportunity Fund gave me the financial flexibility I needed in order to make my internship happen. I applied for other internship funds such as this one, but they did not accept me as a recipient.

However, Pay Our Interns knew that I was struggling financially, and that I needed the money in order to be successful in my internship.

The money helped pay for transportation, the attire I needed to wear, and the food and drink I needed to consume during the day. There is no way to thank IOF enough, because without them I would not have been able to do my internship.”

“One day, I was at my part-time job when I received a text message stating that I was chosen as a finalist for the IOF grant. I also cried. This grant would help me pay for my graduation cap and gown and for some of my tuition payments. This grant played a huge role in helping me finish school. My journey as an unpaid intern has put so much stress on me, on top of the stress from assignments, work, family, and other day-to-day things. I am beyond grateful for this grant and for the work that Pay Our Interns continues to do.”
